Chalky
The two issues on Calla are different mixes/takes. As far as I was aware the other different take belongs to Butch, he has the studio acetate which has male backing. Link to comment Social source share

Chalky
143 and 152, different takes. Both great though, one of the best northern records ever for me and cheap! 2 Link to comment Social source share

Spacehopper
always knew there were different versions but never compared...ive got 143 but just listened to both on you tube and not sure which one i like best now!..143 is more punchy and drums are more 'northern' i suppose but i do like the doubled up more funky drums and the way she lingers her words a bit on the other...or maybe i just like hearing new things great tune either way dean Link to comment Social source share

Roburt
So which version is on the CD album ?? (& why weren't both takes included as that seems to have every other track she cut for Calla on it). Link to comment Social source share
Kris Holmes
So which version is on the CD album ?? (& why weren't both takes included as that seems to have every other track she cut for Calla on it). i was just going through the CD & my JW 45s & i think there are a couple more of the Calla sides missing, so that is just one of the missing ones I suppose. Does seem a bit odd to not put everything on there though, but there must be reasons. Link to comment Social source share
