confussed is it no talc now... seems every where is going that way.. can't blame the venue owners its a git to get up.... people use to much.. they are thier own worse enemy...

I think BT should just stick to phones and not venues really!

I agree with Col on this.. I mean as Moldie is the promoter and Emma nearly always comes to lightwater its the least he can do.. (might eve be always comes to lightwater).

so Chocolate birthday cake it is then home made by Moldie..

Moldie don't put candles on it you will only over do it and upset her...

due to illness paul betts will be unable to appear in the modern room tonite

a better looking replacement has been found :D

also theres an extra half hour downstairs so the modern room will now be on till 1 am

also soulsmith will be showing off his new t-shirt

that will be worth the entrance fee alone

hope to see you there

hi jon and sue

sorry never got chance to say goodnight

im sorry about the sound upstairs but it was soon sorted out

sound limiters are a bloody nuisance and make it cut out intermittantly.

we dont usually have to plug into it but the club owners were on a whinge drive last night.

as for the heat we had 3 full size fans on but as a there is a NEIGHBOUR FROM HELL next door we are unable to open any of the windows

as for the SMELL OF FISH i did warn the sandwich makers but they said they were asked for a healthy and vegetarian selection

anyway hope these minor set backs didnt spoil your evening too much

regards moldie

see you both at bisley on the 3rd

Link to comment

after hearing about soulsmiths NEW T SHIRT i thought id let everyone know about it

people always ask him if his adidas shirt is the only one he has.....colin decided to borrow one of his wifes little blue numbers but after a whole evening of ribbing he decided to buy his own.

heres a pic.....judge for yourself

no offence taken jon

if people dont tell us we cant sort it out for the next one

as a fellow promoter its nice to hear things

have to admit the odd smell upstairs could also have been the fact that 6 of us had a chinese takeaway before the do started

chicken balls rice and curry do tend to leave a nasty smell

big thanks to all the dj,s last night

heard some great sounds from both rooms

the dj,s have told me they will be posting there playlists shortly

the next one will be a charity event and a host of dj,s will be double decking for the night

i spoke to the managers of the venue today re. concerns over the sound limiter and they told me they will set it at a higher level for the next one..

this means upstairs will return to its usual high standard since we bought the new equipment

Hi Moldie,

A splendid time was had, as ever! It's a shame Tony Elllis wasn't on a bit later downstairs, though - he played a lot of great records that most people only caught while coming in and bevvying up.

As always, I can unreservedly recommend Lightwater to anyone who's reading this and hasn't been yet. Good music, good people and good beer have always been something I've enjoyed associating with and it's one do that - unlike a great many higher profile dances - has all three in abundance.

Here's to the next one!

TONE :(

Well I had an excellent night. What a bunch of friendly people we have at Lightwater.

Thanks to Moldie for organising it.

But if you want some constructive critiscm, here it goes.

Northern Upstairs - not that I spent much time there, but I thought it was a bit oldies orientated. Too much like Bisley.

Modern Downstairs - Loads of new stuff, but some of the stuff played later in the night was a bit on the slow side. Although Maxines last spot was on whole excellent. Appreciate that earlier in the night its all a bit backgroundy stuff. But the dance floor emptied every time a slow record was played.

Don't shoot the messenger.....

it was a quiet night.

cant coment on downstairs but upstairs was ok,ish.music seams to be the same wherever you go now down south.

could of done with being a bit darker.

not sure why those that dj in both rooms feel the need to bring the downstairs music to the upstairs room.

room was starting to flow until about 9.45 when whoever was dj,ing started there set with two modern(to my ears) tunes and killed the floor dead. ranting_1.gif

sandwiches where nice :(:(

cheers wayne

it was quieter than normal but still had 104 in

i think the dj you are on about was tony ellis ...looking back at dj times

im proposing that you bring a box to the next one so you can hear all your faves :(

its difficult knowing what to play as people moan if you play new stuff and moan if you play safe

glad you enjoyed the sandwiches...did you like the old ones or the modern ones? lolol

not sure how to make everyone happy

any ideas?

Fancy your wife & I having the same birthday - we really are the soul twins :( Its going to be a bit of a party at Eastbourne on June 17th. Are you sold out?

Ref best record of the night - You are wrong! It was 'Overdose Of Joy' Played by Keith, who wouldn't sell it to me. Whats wrong with that family :(
