Convinced that Russ played Maxine Nightingale - 'Get Right Back To Where We Started From' but I may be blaming him of a crime he didn't actually commit. Good pop but rare soul - I think not.

Dont know if RUSS did play Maxine's track, but i'm sure you know it is the same backing tune as the PYE DISC DEMANDS - THE JAVELLS - GOODBYE NOTHING TOO SAY.

Did 'You got the best of my love' The Emotions ever get a play? I love this record and wonder how it would go down when played out?

M.

Don't remember it at Wigan, but pretty sure it was played at St Ives. Wouldn't have put it past Dave T playing at Yate - Shame, Delirium DC Larue etc etc.

Just to keep things in perspective...

I hope people aren't suggesting that all of these records became pop hits just because they were played at The Casino.

They were many other clubs (and radio stations) all around the country that played these records (and many others) as new releases.

Paul Mooney

Just playing devil's advocate here............but I can think of one tune that def got re-issued & charted almost certainly from Wigan plays- R Dean Taylor.....There's A Ghost In My House

Think it was also excluded from an even higher position in the charts because it was only selling on a regional basis......that was the word on the mean streets of Egham anyway
