FrankM
good to see another soul-sourcer enjoyed Saturday night..... I should have armed Fraser Dunn with a pencil and notebook to compile the playlist. I thought Dave's first set was great and that the midnight set would be a bit more popular . Well it was with the dancers but there was no compromise in his choice of up front northern soul. I do recall him playing Shing a Ling, King Curtis and Foottappin' but thats because I play these. Dave of course knows where to put them into a set to get a good response. It was a great atmosphere on Sarturday night. Martin gavin and Keith Keddie put a good deal of work into the Caledonia Soul club. The next one is Saturdau 22nd July and Ady Lupton is the guest. If you have any West of Scotland relatives or friends pay them a surprise visit that weekend. Or check with https://www.seeglasgow.com/ and book accomodation near to North Woodside Road There are cheap flights to Glasgow Ryanair fly into Glasgow Prestwick and easyjet to Glasgow itself. It's called 'My Life Is No Better' and is an unreleased GWP track. To be honest I have no idea if Ady is going to put it out. I'm sure at some stage there will be a CD release for it though. Glad you enjoyed it. I should have armed Fraser Dunn with a pencil and notebook to compile the playlist. I thought Dave's first set was great and that the midnight set would be a bit more popular . Guest in town Mikey
Cally soul is one of my fave nights. A little birdie says they may be finishing soon tho? Or did I misunderstand? It would be a massive shame if Glasgow lost this great night. Link to comment
