As part of the Oxford Open Doors Weekend .....

...... 14th / 15th September (& earlier) At Pitt Rivers Museum, OXFORD  

on  Thursday 12th September  

............ (Event not listed in the Open Doors brochure) ........

The Pitt Rivers Museum will be open until 21.30 with a special event for the public running from 19.00-21.30:

a screening of Hip Hop: The New World Order 

-- a documentary exploring the global impact of Hip Hop music & culture in eight international cities followed by a panel discussion featuring the film-maker, a hip-hop artist and DJ and the Museum’s ethnomusicologist.

A trailer for the documentary (seems it's about 4/5 years old) ......

Think I'll go along and ask them about sampling & paying for the original tracks that the guys lift !!

Mind you, there's also a tour of the Mini plant that kicks off at 6pm that Thursday at the other end of town & I think I'd enjoy that more.

Think I'll be visiting the BBC's Oxford TV / radio studio earlier in the day too.
