Another cheapo, I suppose the reason why it never broke cover. Add to William Bell's Happy and The Man in The Street; You got the kind of love I need (Stax LP and 45):

I,ve been buying soul records for 40 years and sorry to say apart from the. Concert In Blues album and the Northern faves Willie Hutch was under my radar then I bought a cd of his Motown stuff and the

Proves you Cleggy lot were a right set of disco queens wasn't you

A few of my mates are ex Cleggyites & there's often plenty of banter flying about when were out regards certain types of tunes played at Wigan or Cleggy, all knowing full well that a great percentage was played at both.........but admitting that is no fun

New to me & not for me I'm afraid.............I've not got any plastic sandals to go with

Cheers

Not a dancer from me today just a stuning soul record - it won't be everyones cup of tea, but this is beautiful, particularly when played loud.

Martyn , used to go all over with Rob Thomas and brothers but to be honest you couldn't beat Cleggy , what with the Pier and the Gardens there was no where else in the WORLD !!! that had so much soul music going on . I think there was a little biker cafe or chippy that used to play some of that R&R you like though  matey :thumbsup:

One in keeping with the banter of the day? This was biggie for Alan Rhodes at York's Oval Ball but I don't think he actually played it at Wigan? If I rummaged about enough in the dark corners of the collection I'd be able to pull this out.Brings back some great memories of the late 70t's & I still think i's a blood good dancer.

Rob lives in Spain now doesn't he,not seen him in ages.

Now we've all spent far too much time travelling up & down motorways (I'm still bloody doing it) & I've been to plenty "do's" at the end of them were the music was better in the car. They were usually in dodgy seaside backwaters on the Lincolnshire coast

But what extremes in music though!!! just think back hearing Seven day lover then not long later Wow...............i mean fu+++ng Andre Gagnon!

Ginger playing top sounds with Glenda Jacks-Earthquake thrown in!

must admit though much prefered Cleethorpes and Yate to Wigan at the time

Steve

Steve

Only made Yate once on the way for a mad week in Torquay but it was that different from Wigan that I felt a bit like fish out of water,so don't remember much about it........but that could be old age :D

Reverting to type after flirting with a bit of disco yesterday,so back to the R n R for me

Really rate this & if one of the bigger dj's got behind it think it would be massive but they probably won't as it's only a cheapie :(
