University Worcester, Re-direction Of Funds & A Bit About The Bobby Moore Fund

Just a note to say that due to the timing of this event we thought it might be a good idea to direct all the funds raised to ' The Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK' rather than just to Cancer Research UK.

The Bobby Moore Fund was set up by Bobby's wife in celebration of the great man's life to raise funds for research into Bowel Cancer, & it is heading a big drive for funds for cancer research during the world cup. It is this form of cancer that claimed my mother's life, so it has even more meaning for me.

During the world cup The Bobby Moore Fund is trying to encourage people to use any party's or get togethers to raise funds. You can get information & or a pack which contains baloons & posters e.t.c from Cancer Research Uk, a link can be found on our website at unisoulnight.tripod.com (no www.)

Back to the event, if anyone who isn't joining throng at Cleethorp's fancies a night of predominatley Oldies, Nighter Classics & Rare Motown (specialist hour this time will be rare & unreleased motown) , you will be made very welcome at Worcester & you will be helping to raise funds for a great cause ! Every penny will go to the fund, No payment to us the DJ's, No payment to the University for hire of the venue, & Barclays Bank PLC will again be matching us pound for pound.

So everyone come along & celebrate England's opening win ! or if we draw or lose & you are Scottish, Welsh or Irish come along & celebrate that ohmy.gif

What a great cause. Southside Soul Club's next do is on 15th July - which we will be holding a collection for the above fund. This cancer has also touched my life, as my father is today having his second operation to remove another tumor in his bowel.

Good luck with your nite.

Our thoughts will be with you & your dad Ciara :tumbleweed3:

& remember, I know i lost my mum to it, but they reckon Bowel Cancer is over 80per cent treatable when caught early enough so keep positive & keep your dad positive !

All our love & best wishes
