MrsWoodsrules
Never knew this track, only just heard it, love it. Who/where did this first get spins? Does it still get spins? What a mega tune this is IMO. West Coast I presume then? Did he do anything else? Link to comment Social source share
Md Records
Played at Stafford by Keb as "Randolph Wright - So They Say" the other side is lovely mid tempo "Destination" not sure if it's on "You Tube" - Not that technically great, I'm afraid! Guest
Think it was Guy...the copy he played was cracked...it's still in his DJ box now complete with tape marks! Fabulous grinding Northern...the flip is also worth a listen, as Des pointed out. Thought it would go higher last time it was on Mannie's auction...not the easiest disc to pick up, so maybe currently undervalued? 1 Link to comment Social source share
Gene-r
Bought my copy from Ray Evans of Angelesy in 1986 for £25. Sold it for ten times that amount as many years later! 1 Link to comment Social source share
purist
One that I've been trying to buy for years now, I want it for the flip, so if anybodys got one with L.I.L. in bad condition I'll happily buy that :-) wishful thinking (btw, I saw it on a list, maybe Tim B? - for 300 but thought that was too much so left it) Link to comment Social source share

purist
'For home play only' (!) - 'Destination' is on one of those Connoisseur reissue 45s. #504. Shouldn't be no more than a tenner at the most I would have thought. Thanks for the info. Do you mean the Connoisseur label that Buddy Smith got issued on, or some other one? I've a feeling I've seen a pale label with green writing on, possibly George Hibson or a similar track on this other label? on a tangent, Is there a track listing for the blue Connoisseur label? Seem to remember a version of Genie, poss by Pat Lewis, ?? Link to comment Social source share
Harrogatesoul
https://www.discogs.com/Freddy-Jaye-Sam-Cox-Thinking-Of-You-Destination/release/2988370 There you go! Even one for sale too. Never seen a full listing to be honest - The Pat Lewis rings a bell though. Cheers, Rich Link to comment Social source share

Gene-r
Ray Evans he turned up some good stuff He sure did Ted - remember when he had the only copy of the Executive Four on Lumar - think he wanted £180 for it around 1985. Link to comment Social source share

Shouldn't be no more than a tenner at the most I would have thought. Or you could get the Kent CD with it on for about the same price and have Bobby Wisdom, Morris Chestnut, The Stunners, Carl Henderson, Young Brothers and Sequins-just a thought Link to comment Social source share

Chalky
Connoisseur reissue? I thought it was a bootleg? Is it right to encourage the purchase of bootlegs? It is a practice that is getting more and more prevalent of late. 1 Link to comment Social source share
Harrogatesoul
I was under the impression Connoisseur was legit Chalky? And no it isn't right to encourage the purchasing of bootlegs (which I never do and never have done on this forum) but if I'm wrong on the legality of said label then I withdraw my previous post!! 1 Link to comment Social source share
Ady Croasdell
I can't think what the label looks like but unless it says licensed from ITP it would be a boot Link to comment Social source share
Roburt
Here's a scan of the tuva side of this 45 ....... 1 cut from United Artists, 1 from Renfro, shouts BOOT to me ..... ... about a dozen 45's on the label, usually different artists on each side. Again shouts BOOT to me ...... Edited October 4, 2013 by Roburt Link to comment Social source share
