Love this one, not rated?

A quick reminder to those who haven't been posting in the record of the day threads for too long....

PLEASE MAKE A SMALL POST WITH THE TITLE & ARTIST OF YOUR POST ALONG WITH A DESCRIPTION/REASON FOR YOUR CHOICE

POST THE VIDEO ITSELF IN A SECOND POST.

This keeps the amount of entries per page down, and helps with loading times on slow connections and PCs. It also helps those who follow the thread at work, behind firewalls, or on some mobile devices that don't receive video follow what's going on and know what posts have been made.

Is that Seven Day Fool-Etta James you're on about? That R n B classic Seven Day Fool  :wicked:

Mr Drinkard is new to me & a nice little groover

Cheers

Martyn

That's the one, R n B is OK , you nailed it with the term classic.

It's big band boogie woogie I'm not so keen on, oh and blue grass.

On account of my Country and Western loving brother, playing Flat and Scruggs' "Foggy Mountain Breakdown"

without the drop arm down on our Dansette, this meant it played on a loop, over and over.

Mind you this was back in 1967 when we were sharing a bedroom at my folks.

Still I've never forgiven him for the pain inflicted.

Ahh well thought that I'd get that of my chest while I'm at it!

Super record, verges on the psych, though I've always liked it.

Strangely came out on three different "Lamp" record label issues orange, yellow and gold I think , could be more for all I know.

In a similar vein is the 3rd Avenue Blues Band "It's got to be love" Revue, also 150mile an hour.

B/W a nice ballad "if you don't love me".

A nice cheap double sider.

I would imagine that all the Revue LP's are quite rare?

The Blues Band also released these on their  "Fantastic" LP Revue RS 7213

It features these tracks plus a number of covers.

My pick is a Willie Mitchell produced version of the Deon Jackson record Love Makes The World Go Round by Willie Walker.  Another from that brilliant Hi label.

A lovely bit of mid tempo soul.

Anyway , now I've been slagged off by Martyn  :hatsoff2: , just thought I'd pop this new version of the Festivals that I posted the other day

MAYER HAWTHORNE - YOU GOT THE MAKINGS OF A LOVER

Rose Mitchell - Baby Please Don't Go

Think this is the original version of a much covered classic. Stripped back to basics, i think it's got everything!

Her voice is amazing and oozzes soul. Listen to this and wonder why the big reaction to Jo Ann Henderson.

I think I know the answer to this but on the off chance does anyone know if the picture of the guy playing the sax at the end of the video clip is commercially avaliable in any form?
