Soul Source Record Club. Forever Autum, Some Say The Fall 2013

:hatsoff2: HI SOULSTERS as long as it's a 7" rare soul record that's all we need to get by and have a good day??? Can I apologise to you all for not changing the thread into a CHRISTMAS one, it is because I just did not feel Christmasy. & we have been there and done it before,

HOWEVER BROTHERS & SISTERS, a new thread will be started to see the NEW YEAR IN, I thought a few changes could be included, But this message is just to say THANK YOU for making the record club the most contributed thread on SOULSOURCE, any changes that I may make if you don't like I will remove, maybe it's time to split the club into new sounds and discovered items & classic tune that should be revived before they are forgot,

The worst revived record was LITTLE RICHARD GET DOWN & STANKY in the last 3 years I say worst because of the inflated prices they sold for which I think is un-SOULFUL or TAKING the PISS,

LATERS DAVE K

Hmm whilst I wouldn't argue with the inflated prices bit, for me Get down with it epitomises club soul from the late 60's and was a stonking track that raised the roof

whenever it was played at the Torch, pre-allnighter days, gaining interest from a new audience with faded memories of the Slade pop travesty version.

When I was last at goldmine about five years ago I asked the guys to tip me a few 45's at cheapish prices, that might get played in over the next few years

the Billy Davis "Stanky" was one, The Sherrell Brothers "the Price" and Art Gentry "merry - go round" were the others, I paid about £30 for all..

I like 'em all for different reasons.

Not post for awhile so thought I'd throw a double sider up?Got to get the US copy to get both sides as the UK copy doesn't have the brilliant B side (the side I bought it for). Both sides have been played but for me it's the B side that's the baby.

Phoenix Express with Eddie & Ernie on vocals "You Make My Life A Sunny Day" unissued (1971)

Sorry folks but CD only track from the Eddie & Ernie "Lost Friends" CD

As much as I simply like the Jacqueline Jones on Loadstone this just knocks me out

That's some photo

Afternoon folks , a bit of a slowie from me today , played it last night and had forgotten how nice this is.

I Think it's from an LP from 2003 originally and came out on a 45 on Soul Togetherness in 2004.

DARRELL NULISCH - HANDLE IT WITH CARE - SOUL TOGETHERNESS (EXTENDED VERSION)

Hope you like it and Happy New Year to everyone

Just browsing the Xmas box from my daughter, Anglo's price guide 2013, I got all excited when

I found that the release number for my copy of Melvin Moore's "All of a sudden" (Sky Hero 198133) matched

that in the book, valued at 700 bazoomers.

Excitement was short lived when I found out it was a fairly authentic looking copy / re-issue

valued in tens not hundreds.

In truth I prefer the re-issues A side called "inner side", also attributed to Melvin Moore though I suspect that it is not.

:hatsoff2: HI ALL. Before we kick out the old year & start a new thread in a new year, can I thank everyone of you who have contributed to the record club in 2013, it's a real shame that tonight's celebrations don't have you lot as the DJs what a night it would be,

There will be no changes to the club as I received from you not 1 vote wanting change, that's refreshing,

My last record for this year, I received in the post  yesterday from my old mate MICK SMITH a classic tune if their ever was and a good party record to boot! I always liked Dave Godins AD LIBS pick on SHARE, But I'm sure Dave would have picked this gem instead with hindsight? we will never know, but for me this is the 1st time I have owned this one, so I just have to play it, a classic oldie by the AD LIBS - "New York in the dark" - AGP 100, Y COPY IS MINT as it come from Mick I don't have a clue on it's current value, however if you think of a number and the half it would be closer to what I paid, records from Mick MJ RECORDS are always priced at realistic value, HAPPY NEW YEAR  DAVE K
