Back to fight the modern crossover corner

the R&B rebel rouser from hull been givin ya a bit of stick Swifty welcome to my world.

If he is poorly kick him while he's down he would you Alreet Martyn.

Andy

No I'm not alright & won't be venturing far from a toilet today..........my manflu's turning gastric.........I know that too much info but why shouldn't you feel crap (pun intended) as well :(

Someone pointed out that there was a lot of mid-tempo played at York last night, didn't really notice so much as lot of it was 60t's,with some Xover & 70t's thrown in for good measure.Well with Dave & Bri Pinch as guests you're always gonna a few modern type tunes aren't you?Rate the  boys, they've got some great tunes & always produce an interest spot & they didn't disappoint last night

Cheers

Martyn

:hatsoff2:Hi All.... The other day I saw a copy of this great oldie on eBay..and played the sample on the ad.

It is a record that I just kept on singing, until last night when I found a copy in a pile on my shelf?

Don't know it's value as a Demo or Issue, so here you go  the CHANCELLORS on CAP CITY. Enjoy Dave K

Just making a general statement like any other on here ie when someone says they've had a record a long time or big at a certain club etc..is it a closed shop or something. .also the tune in question is on refo and has been a long time

I was pulling your leg. The thread certainly isn't a closed shop and you're absolutely welcome. The thread is where people can pick a tune or two to spin - it doesn't matter whether it's played out often or never, or whether it's rare or ten bob - it's a personal pick. That, Sir, was my point, no offence intended.

So, are you going to spin one for us? Mid tempo is best. :wicked:

By no means grapper (closed shop)This thread of d the drug

Has opened a lot of ears to new old and different

Kids of soul music from your collection or box

Whether current new or even out played

People on the thread live in different parts of the country

However all are not able to travel

And it's an easy and convenient way of tellin folk "Hey wot ya reckon To this" feel Free to enrich us with something from your box

The idea of the thread is for people to pick a record from their record box at home, and post it up as their ''record of the day'.

It doesn't matter if it's one of the 'top 500' something that cost 50p, £50 or £5000. it can be old, new, fast, slow, midtempo, well known, under played, whatever, just something that you've picked to share with other people on that day, along with a brief description, and maybe why you've picked it.

If you go back through all of these threads, there's been some current biggies, some stuff that''s new to a lot of people, some dear, some cheap, and a lot of more 'modern'' stuff just lately - anything that takes your fancy that day really, it's not a dick swinging contest like some threads can be - only original stipulation was you had to own the tune you were playing... although that does slide every now and then!

So... I've been quite enjoying the 'latin thing' a bit lately, finding a lot at that church fete for next to nothing may have helped, so here's another master of latin tunes today...

I bloody love this record, never seem to tire of it either. Heard it out and about a couple of times lately too, which is nice. I know it had it's day some time ago really, but it's just popped into my head again, as it seems to at least 3 or 4 times a month... catchy, and brilliant..

The Districts - One Lover (Just Won't Do) - Nile
