Been through a small very dusty 200 box, was full of 'disco' .. so to keep Mr Bird on his toes I'm gonna post a lot of it over the next couple of weeks!

1st off, something on british Decca, reminiscent in a way of Lou Rawls, and with a spoken sort of Dead end Street intro, a bloody awful title, but a surprisingly decent tune despite that!

Kenny Williams - (You're) Fabulous Babe - Decca UK

My pick for the day is Clarence Carter - Slip Away.

I'm not sure that Clarence has had any of his stuff spun in our record room.

had a couple this week, favorite by a country mile: Osamu Kitajima - Say you will, and Lady L — Loves Master Plan / Tonite, and I eventually swapped Caffey Brothers for Rhonda Davis - Long Walk on a Short Pier,  just such a brilliant slowie, but then you all know that...

these are new and nice as well...

Barbara Mason - From His Woman to You

Will Hatcher - You Haven't Seen Nothin' Yet

Bobby Patterson - I'm In Love with You

Melodics - Ain't That Sharing my Love

Charles Montgomery - I Don't Think

Mr. Flagio - Take a Chance - Italian disco track from 83, if you like synth, electro / early house sounds you should dig this.. great reachin!!  track...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDV_dBYp4h0

stuff Ive Heard 'Tammaraw - I don't want to lose you', from a seller on here, I do remember seeing it and it being talked about, but didn't take any notice back then, but what a track!! and Festival - Something in Your Smile, another want at the right price... ohhh forgot King James Version with King Solomon & Moses - He's Coming, killer slowie, want that as well...

Its simply an awesome track, Paul had been selling that for an age, so I eventually gave in...Credits Perry on the label, but nothing on the female vocalist, I read that the female vocalist may have been Rene Scott... and there was another name mentioned, dunno....anybody?

Mal, I looked into this some time ago and I'm absolutely convinced that Moses is King Moses of "I've Got That Feeling" fame.

Check out that "ha Ha" at 3.38 in the King James Bible track and the beginning of "I've Got This Feeling"

Colourful character

HI ALL....OK! I will admit this is a bit twee & pop, yet to me it is so soulful, with a great vocal that makes her one of the queens of soul,

the record is from 1979 released on the great SUGAR HILL RECORD LABEL. with it's roots from STANG,

ALL PLATINGHAM  #SH112 - CANDI STATON - SUSPICOUS MINDS. the B side is also good, Dave K

You disco bunnies missed a good un,think you lot would have all been drooling at tunes played (Mel Williams-Girl Of Mine worth the entrance fee alone).A full night of it is a bit to much for me,not enough tempo changes & all sounds a bit "Nice" & I don't want nice all night.

Debbie Taylor was awesome, god she could belt a tune out, backing band was worth hearing on there own.Didn't see all of her as I got bored & went for a bit of a mooch & a natter.

Highlight of the night for me was seeing The Wilton rammed & meeting with a load of my old mates, plenty of banter flying about.Didn't stop laughing from walking in the pub to leaving the venue at 3.15,brilliant.

Just bought this today, think I'd have been lynched if I'd have played this last night
