Today We Go Tag - Posting Members Please Read

ok starting  today we are having a week trial in this the "box" forum of making posting a tag a "must do" when starting a new thread

 

basically when you post a new thread in here - you must enter in the topic tags box a tag

 

 

the tag can be anything

 

but for this feature to work and be worthwhile it should be simple , short and relevant

eg  the name of the artist, label, or subject such as ebay,postage, comedy sales and so on

 

 

examples of threads that have been tagged

as you add a comma after each tag the system then converts it to a tag 

 

max of 3 tags per post, once posted it can take upto 15 mins for all previous tages to show

Select a maximum of 3 tags - use one or two word tags only, separated by a a comma!

Hi Mike

When I have been using only three tags I get a warning saying I can't use more than three tags. Won't let me post.

Happened a couple of times.

I then delete one tag, so there are only two tags, and then it will allow me to post.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

yep three tags is the max

there's still issues with some members use of them, if allow more then may confuse things more

I'm still getting the same issue - it will only let me put two tags, not three.

 

This means that if I'm posting three records together for sale in a post, I can only put tags for two - so I haven't been bothering at all.

 

Thought I'd mention it again as it is still the same issues as before. Plus I like the idea of tags too, so would like to max their use.

 

Can you help please?

what's your browser ?

 

what happens adding two  ?

Browser is Chrome Mike.

Adding two tags is fine.

When I try and put three tags and hit post, I get a warning message saying I can't use more than three tags, even though I have only used three tags anyway (separated by commas as recommended).

I then delete the third tag, leaving just two and it allows me to post.

maybe its the  way you are adding them 

try adding em like 

one,two,three

as in use only two commas

Yes, maybe I'm putting comma on the third tag. That makes the tag go grey, but mayb it's also making it think there are four.

You can see some at the bottom of the page the post is on Pete - it's automatic

if it is using attachemnts thats causing it for now have to ask that you just use 2 tags

i can later try and track error down but just not right now

can be a handy navigation aid

I just posted a new post in LAYB and it went off fine with three tags.

 

Therefore, assuming it must be a problem when attachments are used (scans, pics, sound files) or with the Sales forum specifically.

just saw a post of yours and it just dawned on me...

think the issue is that the "prefix" is counted as a tag (which it is really)

so as you use the prefix in sales a lot then I (without testing) would say this is why  you are getting grief
