jocko
Whats the story with the Herbert Hunter LP, which label recorded and where etc.Is it a one off or are there other acetate? Link to comment Social source share
Alexsubinas
Hi, Unfortunately have no information about which label was involved in this recording if it was any...Sterling Sound was in NY but I think it's just an studio for mastering records. Have not seen any other copy of this acetate but of course can't assure is a one off. This is the tracklist A1. Branded A2. Funky Street Band A3. Turn To Stone A4. Ooh Baby Baby A5. Earthquake B1. Ebony & Ivory B2. Here Stand The Weeper B3. She Shot A Hole In My Soul B4. Cry Baby B5. My Days Are Numbered Link to comment Social source share

jocko
Here are the scans of both sides Okay thanks, so no details really.Fantastic track, I assume lots of the others are covers? Is the She Shot A hole, the same as Clifford Curry?I suspect out of my reach, so hopefully you don't mind me asking questions. Will be interesting to know where this lands, 2 people are favourites I would have thought. Sebastian
Interesting that at least three of the tunes on the Herbert Hunter LP were released in other versions on the ELF label. "Earthquake" by Bobbi Lynn. "Funky Street Band" by Buzz Cason. "She Shot A Hole In My Soul" by Clifford Curry. All of the above have close links to Mac Gayden and/or Buzz Cason. Plus there's a version of Robert Knight's "Branded" on there which also was penned and produced by Gayden/Cason. Might be a clue in there somewhere. Or not! and it's just coincidence. But I'd put money on the LP recording being linked to Gayden/Cason in one way or another. Edited November 26, 2013 by Sebastian 1 Link to comment Social source share

Pete S
Kinnell this is getting some bumps. Oops there's another. Link to comment Social source share
Modernsoulsucks
Most of it Pete is Alex posting clips, auction updates or other members commenting. Alex,if you sell a record just edit first post [as I have done for you] Similarly you can show current bid on first post rather than posting again. Avoids unnecessary "bumping" ROD [Forum Moderator] Link to comment Social source share

Jordirip
Hope you're keeping well Alex. Both sides of the Louise Murray 12" are great. What a voice! Are the labels the wrong way round? Mine are on my copy. Link to comment Social source share
