This Saturday 24th June we are co-hosting an EXTRA SPECIAL EVENT for the occasion of our very good friends and soul-mates birthdays. Yes, I know they don't look it and you would never believe that it's true.... but the lovely Paul Thrower has hit the big five-O and life is about to begin for the luscious Annie Pearce (nee Farrer). We are honoured that Paul & Annie selected MonuMENTAL Soul as the place where they wanted to celebrate their big events so we have happily agreed to let them choose the DJ line up and take over the door for the night. And what a night it's going to be.... with DJs Terry 'The Celestial Messenger' Jones, CJ, Stevie Cee, Pete Smedley, Gareth and myself - and it will be just £5 on the door (but we reckon you owe Paul & Annie a birthday drink!). EVERYONE is welcome - just come on down with your party head and your dancing shoes. You all know how the rest of the MonuMENTAL blurb goes - we'll be spinning a selection of lesser known oldies, ultra rare crossover, funky floor-fillers, modern soul anthems and brand new soul cuts.... the very best in QUALITY soul old and new. A night of great soul music and great company at a great venue, with a big wooden floor and all washed down with pub priced beer... and that all important draught bitter!! See you on Saturday! If you're coming by car, Monument Street is just off King William St/London Bridge and Lower Thames Street. There is plenty of free street parking close to the venue. **2006 - the road immediately outside the Britannia, around the base of the Monument, has now been paved over causing a no through road.
