Recommended Posts

Starting 1st Jan 2014 the warning system will be set up as below

It will be more point based and more automated
As in It will be set up to automatically follow the below..

automatic actions
1 warning point - no action
2 warning point  -  24hr removal of posting permissions - can not create content
3 warning points - automatic 24hr suspension
4 warning points - automatic 72hr suspension
5 warning points - automatic 7 days suspension
6 warning points - automatic 30 days suspension
7 warning points - automatic 90 days suspension

automated actions can be overriden
While the above is automated the site team can/may increase/decrease the above if felt needed

terms of use
All members do agree to follow the terms of use when joining
Members are expected to follow these - this concept is a major part of how the site works
If members don't follow the terms of use then the warning system may be used as a tool to inform/remind

accept warnings
After a warning there is an "accept warnings" check box
If a member does not accept the warning then it is taken they no longer wish to follow the terms of use and thus no longer wish to be a member

discussion
the warning is meant to inform a member - no further discussion on the matter is required

Ok just for further info

As only a very small amount of members (current average is 1 per month) get to see how our warning system actually works on here close up, have explained some of the processes we use below...

All site warnings are sent out via our generic account 'source team'

All moderators get a copy along with the member

Normally there is a neutral template used, where the wording is normally adapted to fit each situation and both explain and inform

the current template is below...

Quote

Just an advisory warning to let you know that your post has been moderated as per the sites guidelines

We reserve the right to moderate posts which

Are considered likely to disrupt, provoke, attack or offend others

Are racist, sexist, homophobic, sexually explicit, abusive or otherwise objectionable

Contain swear words or other language likely to offend

Break the law or condone or encourage unlawful activity. This includes breach of copyright, defamation and contempt of court

Are seen to impersonate someone else

Describe or encourage activities which could endanger the safety or well-being of others

Are considered to be 'spam', that is posts containing the same. or similar content posted multiple times

Are considered to be off-topic for the particular soul source forum/feature

as said usually this template is adapted to fit in with the current situation, as in paragraphs etc added or removed

cheers
