It was the most coveted record for sale that weekend priced at 3K or thereabouts - remember Greg Tormo drooling over it. In those days, the rarest records were hung on the wall in transparent wallets but they kept falling down. i remember he also had two within a few months of each other on auction a few years ago not the best copy's in the world went for 3200 and 3600 i think or around that figure , i knew the bloke who owned one of them anyways i have been after it myself since then and have asked just about most folks i know who might have one and asked on here twice but to no avail Edited February 22, 2014 by steptoe 1 Link to comment Social source share More sharing options...

Almost two dozen Mel Britts on Popsike though. Evidently, the Del Larks is much, much rarer than perceived. Never seen a copy of the Del Larks for sale apart from the Manship DJ offering at Cleethorpes. Fortunately, a nice copy of Mel Britt is shelved somewhere in Crocker Towers, courtesy of Gerry Dietz at the Austin Record Show. The Del Larks may therefore be so rare, a copy may not appear on the open market for some time, and if and when it does, expect it to fetch a princely sum... I have never had, or seen a Del larks. Didn't Sammy come over to the Uk a few years ago and bring 3? Demos with him to sell? Clive Jones had both issue and demo of the Del-Larks,I held one in each hand and was stunned.He also had many,many,top rare NS classics,like The Salvadors,Robby Lawson,Eddie Parker on Awake,Ray Agee,Gwen Owens issue,etc etc etc.The word "stupifying" sums up what he had in the late 1980's.Often wonder whatever became of him and his fabulous collection -like many,he seemed to disappear off the face of the earth....
