macca
I just acquired for what seems like a good deal (40 quid) a promo, same song both sides, stereo/mono, of the above. JM only lists the stock copy, and for a 100 quid. What sort of value are we talking for a mintish dj copy, please? Only Dreaming
I don't know about the promo but there is no way the issue is selling for £100 on the planet I'm living on. Dave 1 Link to comment Social source share
macca
A slightly inflated estimate, it seems. 50 quid then? Link to comment Social source share
Sebastian
What sort of value are we talking for a mintish dj copy, please? Usually goes for $30-$50 (£20-£30) on eBay and there are at least 3 copies per month most times of the year. A well known US dealer had big quantity of this title (100+) a couple of years ago. John Reed
Had a lovely issue, cued it up on deck and bang screwed the intro with needle burn. Sold it and haven't got one back yet. Link to comment Social source share
Dave Pinch
I think the promo should be £25/30... It was a decent seller in the states so the issue shouldn't be much more... Sold 2 vg issues recently for 25 & 15 quid recently..cheaper copy had some label damage Link to comment Social source share

Kev Cane
The issue is as good a double hitter as it gets IMHO, everyone knows the brill "If you want". but flip it over, for me, his finest moment "I never meant to love her", no wonder the issue is a bit more expensive Kev Link to comment Social source share

Got very few things and then he vanished. So I'd love to hear from the man. I heard later that Tim Brown bought a lot or all his backstock. I was told that I wasn't the only one in such a situation with Gary ! Link to comment Social source share

Love Etta's previous unreleased take on 'I Never Meant...' too.... Mike, was previously unaware of Etta's take until John Reed put it up on the Tube a few years back. Blew me away then and still does. Possibly a hundred reasons why any particular track remains unreleased but I always thought for this particular example it was a major crime. Sure is a wonderful, wonderful recording. Link to comment Social source share

John Benson
I must have dropped lucky then, I picked up my issue copy from someone at The Canal Tavern in Thorne, late 80's or possibly early 90's (?) during the Rod Dearlove period there, I can't recall who it was, but he had two copies both issues at a fiver each. I got a bit of a sweat on though when Arthur Fenn picked one of them up just before me, I thought he was going to have both of them! Later he commented to me about it being a bargain Link to comment Social source share
