Great record and yet another forgotten oldie from the Casino , seen it for over £100 in years gone by but last couple of copies for about £30

So it was a Casino spin i didnt realise that, any idea which DJ spun it.One on a big dealers site now for £75 but i think £40 is about right

Must have travelled well, I found my copy in a Maltese market sometime during the 1980's

Interesting you should say that about a Maltese Market !!!!!

The reason being that Malta was still a HM Forces posting up until 1979 , I know a couple of my mates big brothers were out there mid 70's and all had been regulars at the Casino. There was quite a few service personnel out there at the time along with their partners, some of whom they'd met and married on the scene. They even had a few soul nights at the various messes and local bars in the area. From speaking to them in later years it became apparent that what with New postings, marriage break up, etc.... a lot of records were dumped at the local markets rather than boxed up and moved on....

I have had a couple of albums over the years from there marked with the HM Forces radio station stamp, my last being the Stateside Lp " An Album Full Of Soul "

Nice one, it may have come from a soldier then!

My father was stationed over there during the 1950's and married my mother who was a local Maltese girl from Sliema.

I have picked up a few Italian 45's from the Island including a couple by Rocky Roberts  and a nice 1960's garage thumper 45 from a local band that belonged to my mother.

I bought my copy as a teenager - around 1979 or 1980. Got it out of Rob Smith's shop in Nottingham. I understood back then that it was a well-known oldie that had been a Wigan play.

Cheers

Richard

There's every chance that's where mine came from.

Mine also came from Robs shop around the same time, he told me "this is gonna be big" would have been around the same time, 1979 at a guess,

I think he must have had a lot to shift.
