Take It Or Leave It / Beyond The Hurt - CORY (Phantom).....................two very, very interesting rare groove mid-tempo dancers on this pleasingly rare 1976 release, will be at home in any Modern Room and add class to your already well-thought-of playlist. Cory is Cory Braverman but it wouldn't take a braver man than me to play it as it demands to be heard.....................VG++......................£30

2. The Moment Of Truth - DUNN & BRUCE STREET (Devaki)................VG++...........the bright side of Modern Soul, feel-good crossover dancer with a fair braking distance before reaching those disco bumps, steers well clear of them.................£20

3. You Can Be My Lover - BEVERLY CROSBY (Bareback)............Mint-...........Modern Soul dancer, 1977, another upbeat dancer that didn't climb aboard the disco train........next stop Northern Soul Central....£25

4. Free For All (Winner Takes All) - PHILLIP MITCHELL (Jay Boy demo)...........VG++............UK release, 1969. Giant of a dancer on the early Northern Soul scenes and how prophetic a title considering what was to come later..................£20

5. Beauty Is Only Skin Deep / You're Not An Ordinary Girl - THE TEMPTATIONS (Gordy)..............VG++............am I mistaken or is this not the BARGAIN OF THE LIST............£12

6. Jack In The Box - DAVID MORRIS JR. (Buddah)...........Mint-..........this friendly, upbeat Philly dancer has a no-seating policy attached to it, dancing room only, and there won't be much of that when you play this at your next event.................£40

7. Game Players - DOOLEY SILVERSPOON (Seville)...................Mint-...........surprise spin that went MASSIVE for Dave Evison and Richard Searling at Wigan Casino late '77 into '78 bringing back fabulous memories when played out now.................£20

8. Tightrope - INEZ & CHARLIE FOXX (Stateside)...........VG++...........1967 UK release, the Denis Law of Northern, scores every time and puts a full shift in....................£35

9. I'm So Glad - THE FUZZ (Calla)...........Mint-.............played out big-time at Blackpool Mecca and Wigan Casino 1973/74.....................£12

10. Take Me Back - CROSS FIRE (Virtue).............VG++.........................£40

11. Open The Door To Your Heart / Our Love Is In The Pocket - DARRELL BANKS (Stateside).......VG+...............£20

12. I've Got That Feelin' - DARRELL BANKS (Atco).............VG++.............a close relative tune-wise to "Angel Baby (Don't You Ever Leave Me)" but at mid-tempo, huge Northern backing carrying that unique Revilot sound that does nothing but please..................£15

13. Delilah - MAJOR LANCE (Okeh demo)....Mint-.....This isn't the lady who stood there laughing but you'll be smiling upon hearing this early Major Lance stormer, all the way Northern and a peach of play-out. Why, why, why don't we hear it spun more often?..................£70

15. Miss Heartbreaker - THE ASCOTS (M.B.S.)..............Mint-...........harmony group Northern Soul dancer with very strong backing, group sounding like cross between The Impressions and The Esquires, sweet soul missing in action but not too late to give it the airplay it deserves............£25
