This was on a recent sales thread and is cheap as chips. The wonderful voice of Edwin Starr and some nice sax thrown in for good measure. Stay With Me.

:hatsoff2: HI ALL I remember how I gazed at this SORT, she was about 5foot tall hair cropped like Julie Driscol, she had a blue & white hooped T shirt, LEVI 501 S&F BLUE FADED JEANS, Bowling shoes & a bottle green 3'4 leather at the BOWES LION CLUB STEVENAGE, 1968, WHAT A SORT, WHAT A GREAT DANCER & WHAT A GREAT F***.

So when I play my pick today I picture in my mind the sort of girl of my teenage dreams,

Well the record is worthy to have in your collection & is a great example of A FUNKIN SOUL SOUND,

LOWEL FULSOM = TRAMP - FONTANA TF795 5 STARS, RARE TO FIND A MINT ONE TODAY, VALUE £35.

ENJOY BOY  DAVE K

MY COPY  post-13241-0-09549800-1395859144_thumb.j

This came to me via a swop with my bro Geeselad, who had bought it for a tenner at the Afflex palace.

The story is that Carol Anderson had "Holding On" put out twice on Mid-Town, one of the issues having

"It shouldn't happen to a dog" on the Flip.

This release is thought to be the rarer of the two, which Manship books at £150.

Since it remains relatively unknown, or should I say unpopular check out any copies of

Holding On that you see for sale and you should pull one for 20-40 quid, ifin you like the groove!

A bit of a funky, mid tempo mover.............

Don't have many funk soul items as it's not really my taste in soul music, but been searching through and found this ,both artist and writer instrumental in me getting into soul music ( Nothing can stop me on soul city was one of my earliest purchases). Tom Tom arranged so can't be bad.

Gene Chandler  In my body's house checker 7"  recorded in CONCEPT 12 whatever that is,i think was recorded by Baby Huey as Hard times on Curtom LP

funnily enough this the tune I swapped for the Carol Anderson above.

I believe that the Stroud label was set up by Nina Simone.

Top fella.

What I like about this thread is that it allows me to pick and post some records that I like without feeling like a twat. I only started collecting things again recently and I'm no dj nor do I have a massive collection full of rarities or expensive records. However, this great little club gives me the opportunity to share records that I believe in - how good is that. And, more importantly, I feel like I make a decent contribution with my cheapies. I'm well out of pocket mind but I get some real pleasure and a reignited interest from posting in here.

Tony Owens - (When you're wrong) - You got to pay the price - Listening Post

AND

Willie Bobo - Hurt so bad - Verve
