Old Soul 78S

Recommended Posts

:g: A few years ago I came across a copy of Sam Cooke's you send me on Black / Silver London on a 78 rpm. about 10 inch in size and a heavy duty Shellat. It got me thinking ! is there any big pre 1960s soul records on 78 rpm, and is the a market out there. I don't have the record now as it had a crack in it.

78's don't travel well by post and for some reason i think interest has fallen off in recent years,

my mate in london told me the 78 dealers don't bother to go much nowadays

to the rock and roll record fair in great portman st. because no one was buying.

The first Motown release in the UK is on a 78.  Unfortunately I've forgotten what it is.  Didn't come out on a 45 though.  Think Barrett Strong "Money" might also be on a 78 as well as a 45.

Yes, it was released on a 78. but only on ANNA, not on Tamla.
