A Game For The Weekend?

Dayo

Recommended Posts

A nice game for the weekend I hope:

Name this song by title and artist from the lyric. If you spot it first, then you set the next question - geddit?

It won't be much fun if the songs are mega rare and obscure, so play fair! smile.gif

Here's an easy one for starters...

"I'm as proud as any fella could be..."

I'm surprised no-one's got this, but then maybe it's a forgotten oldie these days. Didn't want to give clues, but maybe I should have picked a chestnut to get this thread going.

I'd say it was a Chicago record from '66, part of a double A side, popular at the Wheel, sung by a guy with more Northern hits to his name than almost any other singer....

:( Maybe it wasn't so easy after all.

Here's a link to the song

Mystery Lyric

Keen to get this thread going coz I'm sure it'll be fun; so here's another one that is, as my kids would say, pipsy...

"Here I am, standing at the bus station, suitcase in my hand..."

Remember, the idea is to find a lyric that's teasing, not to pick obscure album tracks or acetate only songs :P

Bloody hell, nice one mate, thought that was a toughie - ok the clues are - it was massive everywhere in the last 10 years, it's a female singer, and it's been pressed at least 3 times..

Only just realised. Drove me mad for a few minutes though.

How about ;-

' I said baby if your feeling blue, and you think love has walked out on you'
