                           Hope all's going well for you on the day we get a chance to see what England's World Cup squad have in store for us. 2. I'd Be So Greatful - BROTHERS OF SOUL (Boo)..............VG++................Greatful, that's how they spelt it, too late to point out their poor grammar but not too late to begin playing and raving over this SUPERB mid-tempo Northern dancer......................£120

3. I Can't Stand No More Heart Aches - THE EMOTIONS (Brainstorm)............Mint-.............worthy of being called into the squad of any DJ's crowd pleasers, pretty strong-sounding, brassy Northern dancer......£15

4. This Town's Too Much - THE MIGHTY MARVELLOWS (ABC)..............VG++...............will break through one day as a play list essential, fit and ready to go, there are good times to be had with this Johnny Pate production......................£20

5. Wild One - MARTHA & THE VANDELLAS (Gordy).............Mint-................still with company sleeve, don't be too timid to try playing this big echoey Motown dancer with the original Northern sound that many other smaller independent labels were trying to emulate throughout the 1960's................£8

6. Happiest Girl In The World - PLUS 4 (Warner Bros.)..............VG++...................big Wigan Casino spin...............£40

7. Everything's Wrong - THE COOPERETTES (Brunswick)....................same tune as Chubby Checker did for Parkway, great Northern Soul dancer with, happy-sounding, bouncy beat................VG++................£40

8. You Gave Me Somebody To Love - THE DREAM LOVERS (Warner Bros.)...........VG++.............Northern Soul Beat Ballad, excellent sound...........................£20

9. One Grain Of Sand - MITCH RYDER & THE DETROIT WHEELS (New Voice).............VG++...........speaking of N. Soul beat ballads, this comes as a very strong recommendation and is as good or strong-sounding as anything in that genre, you'll be pleased and surprised when you hear it...................£10

10. Unnecessary Tears / That's Where The Action Is - THE FANTAISIONS (Satellite)...........Mint-.............both sides here have all you need for a regular Northern Soul spin-out, proving that you don't have to have the fattest wallet in town to sound good............£35

11. You Better Move On / A Shot Of Rhythm And Blues - ARTHUR ALEXANDER (UK London).............VG++......................................nice original...............£15

12. Higher And Higher / I'm The One To Do It - JACKIE WILSON (Canadian Brunswick)............VG++...........£10

13. Foxy / One Degree North - THE MAR-KEYS (UK London).................VG++..................£15

14. Love, Love, Love - SUNNY & PHYLLIS & THE DANES (Uni)..............VG++............great Northern/R&B duet dancer with hammering beat..................£20

15. Baby Don't Leave Me - JIMMY RICKS (Jubilee)...............Mint-.................Superb, deep-voiced Northern-Funk dancer, mid-tempo Northern Soul backing with funk-fused break beat drumming similar, but not as frantic, as Elvis' "A Little Less Conversation", it must've been ahead of it's time in 1966 but this type of arrangement is very much in vogue these days..................£20
