:hatsoff2: HI ALL IGs STANDS FOR GIs (WOW) SOME GREAT TUNES ON THIS THREAD NICE ONE,

HERE IS MY CHOICE FOR TODAY, When I look back at my record collecting, I remember getting BACKTRACK 6 with the RIC-TIC & REVILOT tracks.

then I found a copy of the precisions "if this is love" on TRACK records, this would be in 72, then I found the US copy on DREW, then I got a copy of the EDDIE SPENCER on POWER EXCHANGE, however it is the much rarer Canadian copy on ARK Records that I am pleased to play today, there are not many records where the US copy is worth more than the UK issue, EDDIE SPENCER is one of them whatever this is a good one to start the Monday off

"O YEH" DAVE K ENJOY.

 My copies post-13241-0-38766600-1402313681_thumb.jpost-13241-0-42051100-1402313697_thumb.j

Nice pick Lawrence

Not much matches Al but I have a version of this by Johnny Dean which is easily the winner. There's no clip on YouTube though - anyone?

I can't remember if this has been posted or not. Used to have this blasting out at me mams as I was, well, getting ready for the get down. Fetches a fair price nowadays and I'm glad that this was one of the ones I kept when I all but sold up. Lots of talk about the second issue etc.

Anyway. Its Z Z and Co - Getting Ready For The Getdown.

Ave it!

The IG's - Show and Tell.

Bought this as a new release in 1975 and actually prefer it to Al Wilson's version.

I think they were GI's based in Germany, seem to remember seeing something about them in Blues & Soul.

Kevin,Kevin what you saying?Yes IG's is good but Al W all the way for me

Cheers

Martyn

Well, quick one from me, and another tune from that box of records that belonged to an old sound engineer that I bought at a church fete last year, haggled them down to a fiver for the box... think I might have payed too much, or then again, maybe not, otis lee hard road was just one that was in there, along with Pete Rodriguez, Terry Callier, and a whole load of good stuff! Shame a lot of it was scratched and unplayable.

Anyway, back to todays choice, I loved it when I played it, it's a massive recore for Sean Haydon and Dave Abbott at the moment, and resulted in my inbox getting bombarded with requests to sell it when I mentioned I happened to have one (Only the tenth copy thats turned up apparently!).

Words as an introduction just dont do it justice, so turn up the sound, and enjoy the f**king amazingly brilliant....

Willie Dale - Let Your Light Shine -  Lovie D.

Paul

New to me & wasn't sure at first but once I'd played it a couple of times without the intro it's grown on me big time

Cheers

First Choice album says 76' so anyone's guess who did it first. The First Choice version is produced by the late great Vince Montana and just has the edge for me :)
