Hi Kev

It fits my bill! You can't beat a bit of Joe Simon - another artist I only started listening to in the last few years.

Fantastic record broke by Colin Curtiss I believe at Blackpool, Goldspot has organ and spoken intro methinks, but too sure nowadays with dementia setting in.

Staying with Daves original theme, here is the hardest working man in show business solution, a terrific remake of the standard "What the world needs is love" from the "Bodyheat" set, in fact he re invents it like only he can

Might have been up before but is worth another spin and it fits well with the theme of the thread.

Mr Bobby Womack - American Dream. "When war is all gone and my father comes home". Also gets in a bit of Martin Luther King - brilliance from the man.

Much underrated in my view and a cracking tune to boot from their 1973 RCA  album  " It's Time For the Swiss Movement"

Arranged by Motown stalwart David Van de Pitte, the credits also boast input from Temp's Melvin Franklin and Otis Williams.

Bound to have featured before I guess:

The Swiss Movement "The Grass Is Greener"  RCA LP

Very surprised no one posted Compared to what yet so Ill post Roberta Flacks Orignal first recording of it. Off her Album, First take, not a Northern take by any means but you do get to here all the words clearly, so if you don't like jazz you probably won't like it

Found this on the guy that wrote Compared to what, Eugeine McDanials

Just bagged another one of these from Soul Source. I'm not sure that soul music gets much classier than this. From the brilliant writer, producer and performer George Jackson. One of my favourite artists - just how cool was he, I even loved his accent.

How Can I Get Next To You.

3 words - Collectors midtempo essential - says it all really.

:hatsoff2: HI ALL.... Some people often write the SUE label is a must collect all label  for UK collectors? I have most but not all of the SUE LABEL,  My stance is there is some poor records on the label.  my early sue purchases were back in 1968 B0b & Earl Harlem shuffle, Donnie Elbert little piece of leather, Shades of Blue oh how happy (rip off of the German national anthem?) & Elmore James dust my blues. as the years went by I finally got a copy of the Kelly Bros Crying days are over, from Mick Smith, if all my records were this good??

ENJOY THIS ONE  DAVE K
