Fabulous New York - Jimmy Castor on Jetset

It's one of those semi unknown records that oozes soul and sits in the category of pure Northern Soul. So many people don't know it. You never see it for sale and yet it carries a price tag of £30

Surely the quality and hardness of the record dictates a rarity waiting to go big with a bigger price tag.

Any opinions?

Evidently undiscovered by the masses. Like many good records yet to see dance floor acclaim, the price reflects obscurity rather than quality. All good records have their day so watch this one's turn come around. More and more though, the market is being rigged by DJ/dealers who push sounds that have been stockpiled so inferior records are brought to the fore whilst better tracks stay in the background.

I got this on a tape by Edinburghs Andy Dennison in 1987 , a collector and one of the " New " dj's to emerge at that time,

Played out in Scotland at various venues late 80's onwards, but apart from the collectors never took off on the dancefloor, either too difficult to ,dance to or not uptempo enough , as you say fabulous record and indeed in need of the recognition it deserves.......

The mix doesn't come over very well on a big system unfortunately, so when it's amplified it sounds like an overpowering noise. Great record but a floor-clearer back in the day......
