Soulboyrecords
Good luck Matey - You might get lucky but shops are all well banged in my experience. You might do better to look up any Record fairs that are on at the time you are there - get there at dawn and pay for early entry. This place in Hackensack NJ might be worth a dig. I stopped there for and hour on way to airport - barely touched the stock. Pulled a couple of Gary Thoms for $5 each - have a look at Piccies i took https://www.recordstoreday.com/Venue/3992 1 Link to comment Social source share

Cbills428
Pittsburgh has a couple nice 45 related stores (The Attic, Jerry's, Val Shively). If you're coming towards Buffalo, let me know and I can recommend a few places. Some good places north (Toronto) as well. Link to comment Social source share
clevesoulie
Too bad you're not coming to Cleveland...I would've recommended a place or two. Best, Mark Link to comment Social source share
Britmusicsoulfan
If you go to Val's, just be sure to have a list of what you want -- no browsing! Link to comment Social source share
Frankie Crocker
If you go to Val's, just be sure to have a list of what you want -- no browsing! Val's is in Philadelphia. Outside Pittsburgh there's George's Songshop in Johnstown. Edited December 15, 2014 by FRANKIE CROCKER Link to comment Social source share

Frankie Crocker
And D&J in carnegie I heard this place was closed as he'd retired to Florida. Can anyone confirm whether it is still there or closed? Link to comment Social source share

Soul16
It might be worth asking a few locals about records, if they happen to be having a Yard Sale... 2 Link to comment Social source share
Mick Boyle
If you go to Val's, just be sure to have a list of what you want -- no browsing! Show him your wedge of dollars and you'll be around the counter in no time on all three floors Bit arrogant though Link to comment Social source share
Britmusicsoulfan
I've also heard that at Val's if you want more than one copy of a particular record that the price for said record increases the more copies you want to buy. Link to comment Social source share
