I had a cassette with Levine playing it at Wigan, also one of the first times he played Laura Green introducing it "if you don´t know this one it starts slow but gets going" later to be known as "Wait for the beat"

Steve

Yes Levine did play this at Wigan in Nov 73.

£50 Pete.WDJ £60.

No way. More like 20 for the issue*. No demand.

* no idea about the demo. Don't know if it's common or not.

Edit: just did a search on SS. the last copy I had was M- in 2012. Took me 6 months to sell. For 15 quid.

could say that about quite a few on this page but i keep my opinion to myself

You're probably right but I'm Not built This Way is probably one of the least forgotten records I can think of so it seems strange to post it in a thread about forgotten records.

BTW giving your opinions is what this is all about, don't take offence

It's true.  There's loads of non-forgotten records been posted.

Really? Quite like this one Pete, always have and was so right at the time it was played

Have to disagree mate, this is one of the records that killed Wigan for me, 10th rate things like this, Cobblestone, Loves A Magic Word, John Leach - hated it then, hate it now!

To each his own...

I thought that the thread here was" Forgotten Monsters", not thank God they don't play them anymore!

James Coit was huge at the time, although I'd agree it hasn't exactly aged well.

Joe Tex is a proper 'Northern' Soul dancer, and still sounds fantastic to me 40 years later.

The Shirelles and Lanie Hill may not be the best  tracks our scene ever produced. but I'd MUCH sooner listen to these than some of the shite that's passed off as Northern Soul today.

Someone on youtube said that was played at the Casino and was 'the biggest tune', is he having a laugh, I'd like to hear proof that this was ever played there
