Agree mate Betty's version for me also.Think it was played as an ender record in the past but cant remember by who or where

I used to play Bettys version as an ender to my spots in local nights in Plymouth late 70s early 80s. You probably didn't hear it there!!!!!

Also came out on Atco - im sure its Canadian but would need to check

Yes, you're spot on Jim - the Atco is Canadian.

 

It's a Canadian version of the Karen release with "Don't Sign The Paper" on the a-side. The catalogue number on the Atco label says "KAREN 1538X".

The original version of " I've been fooled before " is by Verble Domino on Toi Records out of Chicago .Verble is actually Sherman Nesbary who cut " Don't make me sorry " in the 70's .

Thanks for the little story behind this piece of music. Not my cup this, but good to know where it came from.  :thumbsup:

ive seen an italian atco jukebox 45 also..makes you wonder it was a hairsbreadth away from getting a uk release on red atlantic in 1968
