Guest forevertonian
As as a small boy I can remember distinctly the first two songs I heard, I'm guessing it'd be about 1978, I was playing with my toys and the radio was on, I stopped playing to listen to "Reach Out I'll Be There" and then another song which I've only heard once more since (about 1990) there's a story to that too but I won't go into that now. I can only remember the chorus, and I've gone through the usual suspects (The Equals and David Ruffin although David Ruffin is the closest sound to it) so I can only write the words as I remember them as few as they are. It doesn't help that I've had music on, bloody ironing! It goes, "baby come back, cos I'm nothing without your love" it sounded a lot like David Ruffin but the tempo was different. Pete S
Hall & Oates - Baby Come Back ? I was thinking of that, I think, I'll go and check - yes it is, but I wouldn't have got the artist, just the song - well done mate Link to comment Social source share

Guest forevertonian
Nope, that ain't it, sounded like The Four Tops. I've remembered a bit more of it (haven't got other songs rattling around my head), "come back, baby I'm scared, cos I'm nothing without your love." Stateside
Hall and oates never did baby come back to my knowledge. It was Player and the you tube clip is Player and says so in f***ing big letters. Why someone has put it up as Hall and Oates I've no idea. Anyway it appears it's not that one anyway.
