Need Help Identifying A Soul Club Membership Card

Can anyone help?

I've a soul club membership card....lost my Casino membership card years ago.  This one is on white card, same size as the Wigan membership, with a red fist with "Wigan Lives On!" printed over the top and "Keep the Faith" printed underneath, again in red.  Membership number is 5055 and there's a declaration underneath for members to sign, "I am over 18 years of age and agree to the rules of the Wigan Casino Appreciation Society?  The  back reads "Wigan Northern Promotions, Second Floor, Arcade Chambers, Arcade Street, Wigan, WN1 1DE".

Anyone any ideas?

I've got one but dont remember either!

It may have been from a Mecca Revival all dayer. I went to one late 80s. It was supposed to be at original Locarno building but switched to some place on the front

It's not a "Maxime's" membership is it,that logo seems familiar. Some years ago I had a "big wheel"soul club membership which came with the declaration"the virus that was northern soul is dead"and went on to proclaim that salvation was at hand.I think the location was Blackpool, I don't think they ever got under way though.

Thanks for your input!  Neither rings a bell sadly.  It must have been some time after 1979?  It wouldn't have been King George's Hall, Blackburn, Lancs would it?  Was there ever a membership scheme going there, and I am talking years ago here.

I think it was organised by Gerry Marshall's son at wigan Tiffs/maximes, standishgate.  Think Russ was involved too. It was after the Searling/Golding (Soul appreciation society of GB), possibly late eighties.

Could be wrong.....?

It's a complete mystery to me to be honest, because after the Casino closed, I went into a huge sulk about the whole Northern Soul scene?   The commercialism and the politics and everyone I knew started to drift off onto other things, like marriage, mortgages and mini-me's.  The whole thing seemed to implode in the north of England, or maybe I just chose to ignore what was left of it?   I can't really remember going anywhere else after the Casino, at least not for a good 5/10 years?  I went to King George's a few times, but other than that?  Looking at the number on the membership card, I can't imagine anywhere having a membership at that level, unless it had a huge following, in which case somebody would recognise it?

Or maybe they just started the membership at 5000, and I was member 55!  It might even have been a one off event, where you were given the membership card on the door, and it never got off the ground due to lack of interest.
