Popular Post Pete S Posted January 19, 2015 Popular Post Share Posted January 19, 2015 Got a right d*ck on Discogs my message to Discogs I had a record for sale, plainly stated as an unofficial release; a buyer contacted me and asked me if it was a reissue or an original. I told him it was 100% reissue/bootleg and that I would not sell a reissue and pretend it is an original. Today I find he has left me neutral feedback because "he bought the wrong version". Now what fault is it of mine that he bought the wrong version? I was honest in my description, and I also confirmed to him in writing exactly what the record I was selling was. Are you able to remove this feedback or am I stuck with it? details are below: 192422865 Bobbi Lynn — Earthquake / Opportunity Street (7", Single, Promo, Unofficial) (Elf (2) — 90,009) Media Condition: Very Good Plus (VG+) Sleeve Condition: Not Graded Paper scuffs but excellent plus £12.00 Q: Hi,your ad says unofficial promo, does that mean a boot or is this original?. I would only wish to buy if on orig.demo, thanks My Answer: Peter, no it’s exactly that — unofficial = bootleg. I wouldn’t try and pass off a boot as an original. Original will cost 30 or 40 quid. Tattoodave Posted January 19, 2015 Share Posted January 19, 2015 Obviously a poorly wired brain, I'd contact Discogs with all the information, put dates to the correspondence and see what they say, it's clearly no fault of yours that the purchaser has a screw loose. Mellorful Posted January 20, 2015 Share Posted January 20, 2015 I've bought a few records off Pete and always conservatively graded and accurate description of the issue. The buyer is a stump but if he wants an original then put the record for sale on ebay and describe it as unofficial release then he will surely make a profit and possibly enough to buy Pete's Stateside copy (if Pete would sell it to him), there are even more stumps on ebay inflating the price of bootlegs that sometimes exceed the price of originals on Discogs.
