The next half hour was Paul Ackley starting off with The Magnetics – When I’m with my baby which is the flip to Count the days and it was great to see both records on the decks at the same time, Paul never wrote down the set – so Paul – “post it up please”.

 

The main hour from the Pinches brothers arrived at 11.00pm and it was classic rare northern soul all the way............

Phew...what a set of  glorious Northern Soul and to an appreciative crowd here at the Rafa club. Fantastic to see the Pinches Twins in Newton Aycliffe again and great to see them enjoying themselves too. Great guys with great friends, many THANKS Bri and Dave -     “THE INCREDIBLES” FOR SURE.

Ian Shoulder finishing off as the DJ’s grabbed a last pint at 12.15am and things were wound up with...

Well that was it and a great night of rare / underplayed soul music which I’m sure everyone loved, here’s looking to the next soul Night on the first Saturday of April (Easter weekend) and we have local guy Dave Eyley backing up the Rafa Club promoters and special guest AGENT SMITH (Rob Haigh) all the way from Telford. For sure this will be superb night so get along for your next instalment of rare soul (What else you gonna do?) at the Rafa Club, Barrington Road, Newton Aycliffe – see the flyers and details on soul source events page.
