Rufus Lumley - "Stronger Than Me" and Earth, Wind and Fire - "Got to get you into my life" both remind me of Yate. I only went about 5 or 6 times.

Doris Troy - "I'll do anything" reminds me of Wigan. The first time I went was September Oldies night 1977. It was being re-released on Pye that week and they played it in the main room 7 times!!!!!

Leicester Oddfellows - Lucky Charms, Tied to your Heart

100 Club - Chuck Jackson, Millionaire

100 Club - Bill Evans, On Broadway

Just bought my 3rd copy of Bill Evans off Mick Smith recently, no idea what happened to the 1st, the 2nd copy was borrowed to Andy from Wotton on the Edge + 20 years ago - Lost touch since. I mentioned to Mick I'll not be buying another, and will look after this one!

Warrington Parr Hall - Chuck Jackson, Hand it Over

Warrington Parr Hall - Melba Moore, Magic Touch

I know this was an Adey spin, however Pat Brady used to play this at Warrington. Brickey (RIP) mentioned to Pat that Magic Touch was a rumoured  to be the next 100 club anniversary single. Pat told Brickey not to be so stupid. For me and this stupid story, Magic Touch, belongs to Warrington.

derby all dayer (cant remember club)

99% sure would have been Tiffany's (a Mecca club) on Babington Lane. Went to many a Sunday all dayer there myself. Very late 70s saw Curtis and Searling etc playing "newies". Remember Searling blobbing it a few times and Colin having to play a double set. Colin never let the promoters down. Usually a mixed/varied set of DJs though. Building still standing - now an all-u-can-eat buffet/diner called May Sum.

Although Cleo's on London Rd did hold a few (unsuccessful) dayers, compared to the Tiffs events.

Same for me really, but on my first trip to the states I found myself in a Starbucks, all alone on a sunny Saturday morning looking onto a Washington DC street and realising that it was Chuck Jackson "Hand it over" on the sound system -a  wonderful memory!

Started going further afield in 1973 just after the Torch shut so Top Rank Hanley was my first outta town venue. So whenever I hear these, and perhaps not the first place I heard 'em, they always for some reason remind me of the venues

Top Rank Hanley - Duke Browner "Crying Over You"

VaVa's - Volcanos "Laws of Love"

Wigan - G Davis & R Tyler - "Hold On, Help Is On The way"

Cleethorpes Pier - Donna King "Take Me Home"
