I thought it was pretty good. Lots of music that influenced what was to come.

...and I like Lindisfarne.

That David Byrne. He wasn't a full shilling was he?

Enough of that. Gladys was just beautiful, Curtis was immense and Gil was cool.

It needed Nils Lofgrin to close it out though.

Love David Byrne,Talking heads etc...True Stories, enjoyed that in the 80's but not seen it since.

Horses for courses. I liked lots of the non-soul stuff: Talking Heads, New York Dolls, Tom Petty, Patti Smith, Dr Feelgood etc.

Lindisfarne made me feel a bit sick though

Only caught part of it, the dreadful New York Dolls through to Tom Petty, so only saw G S-H. That was good, though. Reminded me just what a great track Johannesburg is.

Liked BM & the Wailers.

Of the rock acts Argent were tops with me but I do have a bit of a soft spot for them.

You could tell when the miming stopped around 1974!

Watched most of this. Obviously Gil Scott Heron, Gladys, Wailers, etc highlights and switched off and went to bed when we got to late 70s. But I thought most of the music was pretty good, tbh and certainly a lot more depth and feeling than these lame, public school 'career' type rock bands you get these days! Also anyone else think it's kind of ironic that the 'post-punk' style of music has dragged on unchallenged for nearly forty years, whereas the original 'dinosaurs' got barely ten? Lol!

Maybe I am getting old!
