Tighten Up, The Mumbles, 24th September

Recommended Posts

So Tighten Up is a Thursday night do in a pub on The Mumbles, near Swansea. It's free entry, and quite small really. But it's a great night out if you can make it.

I was the guest DJ for September, and the three preceding month's guests have been John Manship, Steve Clancy, and Greg Belson, so that shows what quality DJs have been on.

I did a two hour set, which was the longest I've ever done, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The playlist is alphabetical rather than in the order I played them, simply because I put it together when we arrived home on the Sunday night after the 100 Club Anniversay.

Carol Anderson - Taking My Mind Off Love - Whip
Jimmy Andrews - Big City Playboy - Blue Jay
Darrell Banks - Somebody Somewhere Needs You - Revilot
Dena Barnes - If You Ever Walk Out Of My Life - Inferno

Betty Lou & Bobby Adams - Dr Truelove - Tra-x
Bobby Bland - Sweet Lips Of Joy - Duke LP
Bob & Fred - I’ll Be On My Way - Big Mack

Great set Dave. Who's actually putting the show on? Never come across any soul do's there even though I get there once or twice a year. For those not in the know, Swansea is worth a trip for a Joes ice cream alone.

As with everything these days, there's a Facebook group.

Ignore the fact it says Tuesdays in the link, it's always on the last Thursday of the month.

Cheers Dave. Useful to know. Don't use Facebook but the link was informative. I've been in several pubs along the Mumbles Mile but not The Vic so I will check it out one Thursday.
