RIP Mr Kilmister

Recommended Posts

I met him around 82/83at the Astoria in London during a gig which i had a free pass for.

I was working in a pub in Camden at the time and the other barman who i was with used to be a reporter for a Northern Irish music magazine and had met him before so he introduced me.

It turns out we are from the same town and he was telling me about his first band The Motown Set and his love of soul music especially Gene Chandler and the Impressions.

I had a good night with him that night and he even came to the pub with a couple of red and browns for me.

So never judge a book by its cover

RIP Lemmie you were a good guy.

Yeah he lived in Colwyn Bay for a while in the 60's according to a guy I once worked with, played rhythm guitar at the time and moved on to bass later. Came across as a real rock and roller, always loved the interviews he did on the TV.

and the son of an RAF chaplain, who didn't stick around too long, maybe he saw something in Lemmy that made him nervous?  He was a great showman, always spoke his mind, and anyone who has this on their Wikipedia page has to be OK "Aside from his musical skills, Lemmy was well known for his hard living lifestyle and regular consumption of alcohol and amphetamines."
