Andyj
I have recently started dj'ing at our local Soul Night. I used what was left of my record collection (from 77 to 80ish). However I needed to update these records with some newer sounds, prices of some of records I want(ed) are out of my price range not to mention the wife's! But I have bought a number of sounds on re-issued labels such as Grapevine, Kent etc but there is a load on what seem to be replica import labels as well. Are these import re-issues frowned upon? I just want to play classic tunes to keep the dance floor full! Link to comment Social source share
Popular Post Cover-up
"Are these import re-issues frowned upon?" They're not really frowned upon, as such. It's more just that you might as well be a member of ISIS asking on a fundamentalist Christian website forum what their views on a mutated and disorted strand of Islam is... Happy New Year and here's to worldwide tolerance in the world of northern soul! 6 Link to comment Social source share
Maxwell
Why don't you search for lesser played stuff or future classics instead of the same old stuff? Loads of them about. 3 Link to comment Social source share

I'm pretty tolerant towards pressing in the sense that they don't bother me. But i get more and more intolerant towards repetetive threads. Is there really a need for a) opening another boot vs origs topic and b) posting replies in it? 2 Link to comment Social source share

If you're going to DJ you better start investing a bit of cash and buy real ones - or don't bother at all. If you haven't got the records to DJ then you aint a DJ. 5 Link to comment Social source share
