This one has been booted on a lookalike label but this is the real deal. Visual grade: VG+ £450 J.C. Davis – A new day / Circleville – New Day 1373 Ohio funk 45 that probably needs no introduction since it reached holy grail status during the deep funk days. Not the cleanest copy but plays pretty well after the organ kicks in. Visual grade: VG- to VG £300 Mixed Sugar – It’s a bad feeling / Fifteen ain’t young no more – F.G.S. 423 All-time personal fave from Flint, Michigan. Funky edged crossover of the highest order. Has an almost invisible stress crack that doesn’t affect play in any way. Visual grade: EX £275 Cappy & Stonewall – Bad news / Independent lady – Love Capp 114-46 Cali modern soul winner in pristine condition Visual grade: M- £220 The Chances – People wake up before its too late / A better day is coming – Finch 106232 Highly recommended Ohio double sider. The ‘Better day’ side is a timeless piece of mid-tempo harmony soul but flip it over for an insane slice of stripped down gloomy soul with a message and lo-fi drums. Visual grade: EX £200 Mary Handy – Rock ‘an roll shuffle / Life is not worth living – L&J 50 Late 50s Bay Area rokcin’ R&B rarity. Visual grade: VG+ £175 The New Days – Take my heart / To be free – Rev 1711 Rare as hens teeth sweet soul from Cali with beautiful harmonies and a nice arrangement that keeps building up. Visual grade: VG £150 Prepositions – Do what ever turns you on Pt I/II – Movement 2 Early 70s Detroit funk. Highly recommended and tough to track down. Visual grade: VG+ to EX £80 Ricky Madison – I’ll follow you / Bobby was right – De Ry 10023 Mid-tempo obscurity that’s sought after in popcorn circles. Visual grade: VG+ to EX £70 Gerri Thomas – Look what I got / It could have been me – World Artists 1059 Unplayed copy of this northern classic, just a few storage marks NAP. Visual grade: EX £70 The Poppies – There’s a pain in my heart / My love and I – Epic 5-10086 DJ Copy Big room northern dancer. Original copy with scuffy surface but plays well. Visual grade: VG- £65 Darrell Banks – I’m the one who loves you / Just because your love is gone – Volt 4014 Crossover magic from the man that can do no wrong. Numerous marks but plays better than it looks. Visual grade: VG- £60 The Pushers – The new thang / I’m so blue – Vibra 103 Obscure tittyhsakin’ sixties instrumental that has sold for a big money a few years ago. Visual grade: Strong VG £60 Electrostats – 21st Century Kenya / Weak as you want to be – Three Oaks 101 Early 70s Nola funk instrumental with a beutiful femme ballad on the flip. Visual grade: Strong VG+ £55 The Marquee Revue – What good tomorrow / Don’t talk of love – Pacific Avenue 464 Very clean copy if this blue eyed soul 45 from Nebraska (of all places). Featured on Manships rarest of the rare. Visual grade: EX £50 Little Willie John – It only hurts a little while / Rock love – King 5870 Killer R&B dancer and one of Willie's very best vocal performances ever to be recorded on vinyl. Not the cleanest copy ever but selling this at a fraction of the going rate.
