This record featured the other day on a BBC documentary about 60s music.

They interviewed a guy from Liverpool and he said he had bought it from a sailor who worked on the Transatlantic liners.

I would guess his memory was playing tricks or sailor was operating a scam. This is a British release surely.

IMHO 95% of early soul/R&B in this country was played off British releases.

Hope I haven't got egg on my face here  . . . . . . . . . . . :)

Don't think you have, all the histories I've seen especially when they mention Roger Eagles or the Wheel all make a point of mentioning the fact that the early British releases led people to 'Investigate' (:P) the wealth of American releases that never saw light of day here. Don't go anywhere any more but the awakened interest in the more R&B tracks would seem to hanker to those very beginnings.

HI ALL  As e know, all the early UK released Tamla-Motown 45s are collectable these days,  but there are some that were minor hits & the Contours are along with "Finger tips" Stevie Wonder the easy ones I would price them at £20, however if they have a silver A on them £60 - £80 if that helps.
