old threads - close or leave as is ?

Recommended Posts

quite a few years have passed since day 1 on here

which does mean that we do have a lot of old topics

and so some old topics do get brought back to life

sometimes wonder if we should close the old ones automatically

for example could have 3 or  5 years  or what ever as a 'close' point

or just leave as it is

not convinced either way really myself...

whats the members take on this ?

If it's not causing any bother Mike I would leave it. There are some interesting late, late additions to old threads. Not always, but sometimes.

As Pete says, if it isn't hurting anything leave as is.  Quite a few old topics that have an interest have been revived, especially record talk.

I vote leave if doesn't effect the sites' 'workings' - If anyone had the time, it would be interesting to go back and do a bit of a trawl through old topics and re-activate some that may be of interest to people who missed them when they were being discussed (Or not being members at that time) Others may add their different views as well.

Leave. unless it causes a problem with site. I love going back through old threads I' m always finding out about records,   and facts about our music I don't know about for whatever reason.

If it's not a problem leave everything , l wish l hadn't got rid of all my echo's and blues and soul publications now the old grey matter is fading

as said in earlier post the question was/is

should we close old posts or leave them open ?

if they are closed then they still will be searchable. viewable, closed just means that they can't be replied to....

thanks for all views looking like will leave as is... all threads still open

cheers

If you close them, someone will just start a new one and it will become disjointed. I recently added to one 4 years old as I had a question, and it's had some interesting and useful responses, and I am now a wiser person.

Leave. I love to pop back and trawl through old threads when I'm bored.

Makes me smile

Or cringe - If I read something I've written a long time ago, it's akin to how I felt when I heard my own voice on a tape recorder as a kid! (Gawd did I really write that kinda feeling) :D
