Tough one Russ as I think most played out oldies are still all being played at many venues and therefore never need reactivation. Dobie Gray is a good point as you never hear it out I suppose. Personally I would think of things like :-

Construction - Hey Little Way Out Girl

Mike McDonald - God Knows

Paul Anka - When We Get There

Battered in their heyday, but Ive rarely heard them out since

getting bookings around the local clubs and now im now being asked on a regular

own style, inventive, personalty, etc i am in reality an oldies classic collector and dj, oldies being underplayed re-activated 45s, hence the questions and thoughts of you good people

Russ, thanks for your kind words and comments, i think it's really quite simple this one, basically if you stick with quality from whatever era then you are half way there mate, i'm basically an oldies DJ with a pretty solid collection, i'm pretty selective in what i now buy, i think both from the club and radio perspective slightly different areas i know but i try to maintain a certain standard and i guess style, add a few semi known or forgotton gems in the mix and it kind of puts your own style and stamp on what you play, passion for the music helps which we all have, dig deep and give it to em' mate.

Regards - Mark Bicknell.

Thanks for comment. I try to play this type of stuff when i,m out and about. normally to a very good reaction from the dance floor and collectors alike. Why they get bypassed i dont know. A lot of late Wigan tunes have been overlooked by the majority because if it aint rare it aint cool or trendy. :) Yes there where some bad tunes played But there where some awesome stuff too.
