Guest lagerlout
early arrivals can stop off for a pint over the road at the Bull pub. the fact that the venue had a pub over the road, swung it for me as a good venue. there,s plenty of parking on the blackburn hall site and round the back of the pub also as ample parking. Pudsoul
What a bloody excellent soul night. The large (and diverse, they were from everywhere) crowd were treated to an evening of fabulous soul. We got there just as Rich took to the decks and he always serves up a tidy spot, and he didn't dissappoint last night either. He was followed by the estimable Mr Banks, who proceeded to play the best spot I've heard at a soul night for I don't know how long. I mean, Paulette followed by the Cadets? I nearly had to rush to the gents for a shuffle of the five knuckle variety! Steve Mannion kept things moving, and then Alex and another guy who's name I don't know played some quality soul, current spins, but also some great great records that just don't get aired that often these days. I'll leave the guys to post up their own play lists, so you'll be able to see for yourself. Well done Pete and the guys for promoting this, I hope, I mean I really hope this takes off as a regular Leeds soul night. And to all those people that went, make sure you come back next time, and bring your mates too. Link to comment
Guest
Have to agree with you David, absolutely cracking do. What a venue!. Just over 100 there, not bad for a new night. Going to put some photos up. Took loads but due to my camera having a time delay on it there loads of the roof, floor, peoples heads chopped off etc, will have to sort through them. Didnt spend a penny last night, had all my drinks bought for me, thanks Mark & Pete, that's any profit you made spoken for . Also being the last one out of the taxi I found myself with enough money from everyone else to pay for it. Excellent work West Yorkshire Soul Collective Kirstyx Link to comment

Steve L
I think I took the second photo. Not up to my usual standard, a bit off centre. In future Kirsty you should give complete strangers more in depth instructions on how to use your camera, something along the lines of " theres a delayed action on the flash" before they take the photo, not after Link to comment
Guest markmtfc
On behalf of the West Yorkshire Soul Collective, a big thank you to everyone who attended, after all we can only try to put together a quality soul nite, with quality djs, in a quality venue, but without you the paying punters we wouldnt have had the excellent nite that we had. Special mention to Mark Etheridge for the decks ect, Kirsty M, for her stalwart promoting, ect ect. Nice to see the Attic boys out in force, and for that bloody lunatic Roger Banks, who apart from playing a belting spot, never stops fooling around and creating mayhem. A big thank you to all of you. Roll on the next one. Link to comment
