Football/soccer - in London on OCT 1?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I will be in London on 1 OCT with some friends. Does anyone know of a low-key football match that might be worth going to? Something below premier league (not interested in paying a ton of money as my friends are not huge soccer fans) and more chill.

We are staying right near the Tate Modern art museum...

Thanks!

Hi Leo

I had a look to see what is on that day and the only thing I could find is Arsenal are at home.  However, unless somebody on here can help you I don't think you'll be able to get tickets unless you are a member of some kind (and they would be very expensive anyway).  There doesn't seem to be any other first-team matches locally for the next three leagues down.

What about doing a stadium tour?  Presumeably, if you go to Chelsea you can see the Premier League trophy?  The Wembley tour is enjoyable, but it's a long way for you to travel.

Has anyone else on here got any ideas for Leo?

Best wishes, Mark

Rad and expensive ....

Only hospitality tickets are left mate , so you would have to buy from a second source and the prices are high . Like £120 for a seat up at the top tear ... where I paid £20 to see England v Slovakia ... nice price hike 👎

Might be better going to see Arsenal v Brighton but they are going to be £100 each from a second source, as that games sold out ...

Football ain't what it was when I was standing on the Kop ..

You've picked a bummer of a date Leo ... Sunday none league football in the park mate ... costs nothing and you might get to see the odd ref knocked out .

Sorry mate

Or you could go to the World DJ Championships at Koko in Camden ... great venue and tickets only £18

but you have to wear a baseball cap back to front and be prepared for some real scratchy hip hop, from some serious turntablists .

maybe we'll stick to museums     :-(

At Tate Modern until 22nd October is "Soul of a Nation - Art in the Age of Black Power" might be worth a visit.  Though I'll be sleeping off the 6T's Anniversary allnighter, or trying to.

You could always get over to that Hive(Barnet) and watch a WSL game. London Bees have two home games early October against Spurs and Millwall.

My daughter will be in the home squad.

Dang! We will miss the 9/30 game and be gone by the game on the 10th! We would totally go see that. Congrats your daughter - that is really awesome! Go Bees!

As you were asking about Soul do's previously, just do the 100 Club Anniversary niter as suggested (if you can get tickets), then you won't be bothered about sport or museums on Sunday.

:hatsoff2:- Kev.

If you know anyone with 3 spare tix - please let me know!
