Ryanair - No way to run an airline.

Recommended Posts

Firstly, I hope no members have been affected by the absolute incompetence shown by this airline company.  How, in this day and age, does any company need to cancel services to this extent due to staff holidays?  2000 cancelled flights over the next 6 weeks.  Personally, I have used Ryanair in the past, but intend to avoid them like the plague in the future.

There is more to it than holiday rostering, including loss of over 100 pilots to Norwegian due to better pay / conditions I understand. But I agree another PR disaster for this company and a disaster for anyone stuck.

PS: I'll never forget the time one of their pilots managed to land a scheduled service on a short military runway rather than Londonderry airport.  Trollies, trailers, steps etc. all trundling down the road to rescue the passengers and luggage, and a specialist pilot dispatched from Toulouse to get the thing off the runway. Happy days.

Ive looked at the cancellations list and at the moment there are no cancellations to Faro, so lets hope it just stays like this and they don't cancel them within a few days of us flying.

Just discussing Ryan air, as I backed out is a deal reciently,  simply because the agent used them as a carrier.  I think his days in business are numbered, O'Leary is like Trump in many ways, he pisses everybody off, his customers, his suppliers, his staff... eventually that will be the deciding factor, how ever low he offers his flights...

Ryanair left us stranded in Lisbon earlier this year. When we arrived at the airport the flight was on the board as delayed, then at 10pm after 6 hours they changed 4 flights to cancelled.

The Ryanair desk at Lisbon airport had a queue of over 400 people and the 2 girls at the desk were taking 5 minutes to process each person. They do this on purpose so people give up and just make their own arrangements.

We ended up getting a train to Porto and flying back with EasyJet the next day. We got a refund for the cancelled flight but the EasyJet flight cost double that and it was 60 euros each for the train.

I will never use Ryanair again.

The sooner they go bust the better.

Ryanair just go from bad to worse.  Apart from cancelling more flights, effectively closing down 34 of their routes, they've now incurred the wrath of the Civil Aviation Authority for failing to properly inform customers of their rights.  Can't see them recovering from this, personally.

Apparently they are liable for booking you another flight with an alternate airline at cost to them under european law ,but keep very quiet about it to customers !!
