Loads of new eighties releases played at Morecambe many on 12 inch along with the sixties newies and some oldies.I have been looking for that video for years after someone asked for it who was on it.Dancing in Fila shorts....totally forgotten about now. There was a great thread on here about Morecambe sounds.Brainstorm...On Our Way, Veda,Teacherman,Ray Crumley,No More Games,7th Wonder,Mel Carter etc.....I went to Southport Weekenders after this....but for the Jazz Rooms.

Well worth seeing Kev. Thanks for posting. I applied for a job there in 1979 and was glad I didn't get it - perhaps I missed out later? Always good to hear Searling speak as he talks so much sense. I made it to Cleethorpes Pier - can anyone compare the experience with  Morecambe?

l did both, and enjoyed them both circa mid 70's (C) and early 80's (M).

Like you, I have all these things on unmarked videos..........may never see the light of day again unless I get time when I retire some day......shame really.

Need to find the "Chasing Rainbows" Stafford one.....I have it somewhere......and Cleethorpes, Tony's, Leeds (Phil Dick).....all sorts!

Like most on here I'm a complete magpie!  LOL

Cheers,

Mark R

Didn't Sean Gibbons organise a Weekender in Morecombe in 1990 ??

I know I took Lou Ragland to perform at a weekender in Morecombe around then; Sammy Ward & Francis Nero were also on the bill at the event.

Can’t remember if it was a weekender or not, I went with Ray Hudson. Sammy Ward in all white and cowboy hat.
