A couple of relistings I just can’t figure out why they haven’t yet sold, but damn-near all have been plucked from the collection last night. Mostly 60’s, mostly Stafford-y type sounds, but the occasional 70’s and classic Northern sounds are in there. Think it’s worth highlighting there’s lots with exceptional deep/sweet soul flip sides; indeed there’s one or two which are – for me – miles better than the uptempo side. Check ‘em out, I’ve added YouTube clips so you can to treat your ears to something new, or to remind you how good a tune sounds, but they’re not my records: the one’s I’m selling are pictured. Barabra Greene – Young Boy – Renee *demo* £20 a feather light, gentle, early 60’s girlie mid-tempo. There’s tape residue in the run out, so I had it covered up as something or other in the 80’s, God knows why ‘cos it’s far too delicate to play out. Mid tempo, not bad. Nothing great but better than a boot up the arse. Johnny Davis was his name (and check out his tragic tale on the YouTube notes) – I’ve listed the awesome ballad ‘We Got Love’ first, it just dominates the so called ‘Northern’ dancer on the flip (which is ok, but pales into insignificance). This copy is not in great condition: surface scratches and scuffs, not particularly audible but it plays fine.
