So was Mood Mosaic played at Wigan then ? ... I know it gotta plenty of spins in UK soul clubs between 66 & 69 .. thought it would have been 'old hat' by 74/75ish and later ... after all it had gotten 2 UK releases on 45 by Sept 69, it was available on the UK LP and on Canadian & Euro released 45's.

100% yes - mid late 7ts yes, if it was played in 66 it comes under the twisted wheel - pre 73 - so deffo Northern Soul - weather you like it ir not - personally it just went on tooooooo long - not sure if it was pressed one of the other guys am sure will jump on that - they use to use it as a background theme on radio 2

Yes it was definitely played in the big room at the Casino. It was obviously a reactivated tune from earlier venues.  Probably the wheel but that was way before my time

A lot of the stuff played at Wigan was from earlier clubs such as the Wheel, Torch , Catacombs etc.  and this tune was no exception

In fact the Wigan Oldies night once a month ( Fridays) circa 1976/78 was some of the best nights I can remember from the casino days

Given so little footage of Wigan exists I though the above clip was quite intereseting.

At one Friday oldies allnighter, they played that bloody Mood Mosaic thing 5 times through the night!

Is the film clip one of the "This England" outtakes?

Great shame there is not more footage from Station Road especially as it ran for eight years.

Must admit that I now regret staying away from the Casino the night when they filmed This England. Whenever I see footage It  brings back memories of the greatest time of my life and shows some of my mates who have sadly passed away .

I was a staunch regular at the Casino in the 70s, and gave it a miss that night the tv crew were due to turn up to film , it was nothing like a normal niter ..ie lights on, cameras, sound crews everywhere etc alot of people stayed away that night, we didnt welcome the intrusion of  our secret scene to the mass media..it didnt come close to capturing the dark sweat nerve tingling atmosphere of a normal Casino Niter..never to repeated

Not seen this clip before. Sure looks like the Easter 1977 BBC visit at a very early stage of the night. Cameraman’s spotted a backdropper so he’s zoomed in on the lad. Trouble is, you shove a camera in someone’s face, they perform for the camera. Mind you, it could have been far worse - imagine Wigan today with 500 self-obsessed dancers holding selfie-sticks with 1,500 onlookers recording the action on mobile phones... Perhaps it’s just as well that cameras weren’t that common in the mid 70’s.
