Will be visiting New York in March anyone know any decent clubs or bars that play sixties seventies soul r&b please.

Not been for a few years - don't know of any regular events that are still going - try checking out some bars in the lower East side / East village you might find something

Bobby, I DJ every Wednesday at a bar in Manhattan called Botanica (47 E. Houston St.)...start a little before 10, go till 2:30 usually. Not a dance party, just me playing soul and R&B for the drunks. Been doing it every Wednesday for 21 years. Over the years people like Keb, Manship, Butch and others have been through....

First Saturday of every month I do a big crowded sixties soul dance party called, imaginatively enough, Soul Night. Next one is this Saturday, November 4. Great sound system, enthusiastic crowd, lots of dancing. It's at Friends and Lovers bar in Crown Heights, Brooklyn...10 till 3:30.

Thank you I will be there 1st to 6th March will crown heights be on then. We are staying in Brooklyn so should not be too hard to find. Look forward to attending this.

You may also be able to gain entry to the Apollo Theater on 125th Street.

If I remember correctly it is near the underground station.

We went up during the day and were allowed access to where the stage is.

Nice Soul Food restaurant nearby. Turn right when you come out of the theater and it’s on the next block.
